Laudate Deum: A Last Call for the Planet was commissioned by the Laudato Si’ Research Institute (LSRI) at Oxford University. The book brings together around 19 short papers arising from a conference on climate change. It's semi-academic in nature, but intended to engage with a broader audience. My role was to design both the cover and interior layout for the publication.
Although the content was semi-academic, LSRI wanted the design to feel approachable and engaging rather than overly formal. I created a clean, modern layout with generous white space, clear typography, and subtle visual elements to guide the reader. The cover design echoed the urgency of the environmental message while maintaining a thoughtful and balanced tone.
The finished work was delivered in two formats: a print-ready file for physical copies and a high-quality PDF for online publication. The result is a professional, accessible book that retains the clarity and credibility of academic work while inviting a wider audience to engage with its vital message.
